bet365 expands into its 17th US state and secures official sports betting partnership with MLB’s Detroit Tigers

bet365 has continued its North American expansion with the launch of its online sportsbook and casino in Michigan.

The launch follows bet365’s approval from the Michigan Gaming Control Board (MGCB) as the platform provider for the Little Traverse Bay Bands of Odawa Indians, operator of the Odawa Casino in Petoskey.

bet365 replaces PokerStars, which recently exited the Michigan market and combined with FanDuel’s operations.

“This approval reflects our continued focus on maintaining integrity, transparency, and consumer protection in Michigan’s online gaming and sports betting marketplace,” said MGCB executive director Henry Williams. “We are pleased to welcome bet365 as the Tribe’s new platform provider and look forward to seeing the Little Traverse Bay Bands of Odawa Indians continue to provide a safe, responsible, and enjoyable wagering experience for players across the state.”

The rollout in Michigan marks bet365’s 17th active jurisdiction in the United States and will be supported by partnerships with the MLB’s Detroit Tigers, NHL’s Detroit Red Wings, and live entertainment company 313 Present.

As part of the deal, bet365 branding will be integrated throughout Comerica Park via a range of high-visibility placements, including during game broadcasts.

“We’re excited to bring bet365 to Michigan and introduce a better way to bet,” said Trip Stoddard, head of business development at bet365. “This is a mature market with knowledgeable fans, and we’re confident our product stands apart. Features like our Early Payout offer, combined with our in-play experience and integrated casino, give players more ways to engage and more reasons to choose bet365.”

In addition, bet365 will serve as a presenting partner of the Detroit SportsNet’s Tigers coverage.

Detroit SportsNet serves as the year-round in-market television home for Tigers games beginning in 2026, and for Red Wings games beginning with the 2026-27 NHL season.

“As we continue expanding across North America, Michigan represents an important next step for bet365,” continued Stoddard. “Partnering with Ilitch Sports + Entertainment and Detroit SportsNet allows us to enter the market in a way that feels authentic – integrating directly into the broadcast experience and how fans already engage with their teams. We’re focused on enhancing those moments with a seamless, fan-first betting experience.”

Revenue from Michigan’s online sports betting and iGaming market grew by 17 per cent to $313.0 million in February, with a 23 per cent increase in iGaming revenue to $273.1 million offsetting a 13 per cent decline in online sports betting revenue to $39.9 million.
