Wynn Resorts has completed the acquisition of Crown Resorts’ land-based venue in London after securing approval from Britain’s Gambling Commission.

Renamed Wynn Mayfair, the venue offers a variety of gaming options, with twenty gaming tables distributed across the main gaming floor, roof-top terrace, and six opulent salons privé.

Spanning two historic townhouses at 27-28 Curzon Street, the casino is located in the heart of London’s upscale Mayfair district and features The Bar and The Dining Room, which is now open to the public as well as to members.

Wynn Resorts said previously that the acquisition provides the company with a presence in a global gateway city, creating a conduit for Wynn guests to visit its resorts, particularly Wynn Al Marjan Island which is slated to open in early 2027 in Ras Al Khaimah in the United Arab Emirates.

Australia’s Crown Resorts had been operating the historic private members’ club since 2011.

Originally known as the White Elephant Club in the 1960s, it was frequented by an A-list roster of guests that included Richard Burton, Roger Moore, Princess Margaret, Shirley Bassey, Peter Sellers, and Shirley MacLaine.

John Aspinall, who was key to the British government’s decision to pass the Betting and Gaming Act of 1960, acquired The White Elephant Club in 1992 and rechristened it Aspinall’s.
