This week sees new slots released by Yggdrasil Gaming and Microgaming, a new Achievements Engine from Quickspin, and platform integrations by Betsoft, Oryx, Habanero, and EveryMatrix.
The Isle of Man-based supplier is preparing for the launch of two new in-house developed games in February, as well as another title from third-party developer Rabcat.
Ahead of Valentines Day on February 14th, Microgaming will release Secret Romance featuring mystery heart stamped envelopes that open to reveal big wins across multiple lines. Mystery symbols can also reveal scatters, with three or more in the base game triggering 14 free spins during which mystery symbols can super stack up to 20 high on all reels.
The multiplier trail feature will progress one level at a time when three or more scatters appear, all the way up to 5x wins.
Microgaming’s second game release, Fruit vs Candy, offers players the choice between playing the fresh fruit or sweet candy game modes. Vibrant graphics and engaging gameplay provide players with 243 pay lines, with the base game including randomly triggered features such as the Goodie Bag or Sugar Rush, which can appear on any non-winning spin to award a random cash prize. Just one scatter appearing in the Sugar Rush feature can trigger free spins.
Fruit free spins come with a stash feature, whereby low symbols are snatched off the reels for cash prizes. In Candy mode, free spins come with sweet reels - a full candy symbol stack landing on the reel sweetens it for the remainder of the feature.
Also launching in February is Rabcat’s Classic 243, a five reel, 243 ways to win game featuring flashy 80’s neon colours with atmospheric sounds. The slot, available on desktop and mobile, features free spins with either two or three guaranteed stacked wilds on every spin.
“February’s new releases focus on love, food and a neon classic,” said Microgaming games publisher David Reynolds. “Fruit vs Candy offers players a choice of two game modes, enabling them to pick the features they enjoy most.
“Whilst Secret Romance brings engaging gameplay features including mystery symbols and an increasing multiplier trail in free spins, which will really heighten the suspense and enjoyment. Rabcat also delivers a fun, vibrant slot in Classic 243, combining a great style of game with a novel free spins feature.”
Cherry’s game development subsidiary Yggdrasil has expanded its portfolio of slots with the launch of its latest title Alchymedes.
Set in a mysterious laboratory, the game allows players to tailor their own bonuses by choosing between larger multipliers or larger spreading wild patterns as they progress through the levels.
Players complete levels by scoring line wins on all symbol positions, with each final spin awarded a multiplier that increases from x1 up to x100 throughout the level.
The game also includes a bonus feature, which can be triggered at the start of each level and awards one of six rewards such as additional wilds on the pattern, coin wins, higher multipliers and more frequent multipliers.
“Alchymedes is a set in a time when science was seen as magic,” says Jonas Strandman, head of gaming at Yggdrasil. “Giving players control over multipliers and wilds means they can find the right formula for their bonuses to unlock big wins.
“By basing the game on a level format we have built suspense and excitement into Alchymedes, giving players an incentive to keep spinning the reels to progress through the game and boost their chance of winning big.”
Built in HTML5, the slot includes Yggdrasil’s in-game promotional tool BOOST and its social sharing tool BRAG, which allows customers to watch replays of winning spins and share them with friends and fans on social media.
Playtech-owned Swedish slots specialist Quickspin is preparing for the launch of its Achievements Engine at ICE Totally Gaming next month, as well as a raft of new games.
Its industry-first Achievements Engine will see players encouraged to keep spinning the reels as they chase tokens and prizes, driving engagement and retention to the next level.
Players can track their progress, claim and use their rewards within an achievements page accessible in each game. The rewards pay out as Quickspin tokens, which can be used to trigger the game feature, most often the free spins bonus round.
Quickspin will also unveil mobile portrait mode, which will be rolled out across all its games. The supplier has focused heavily on design and UX, updating its entire keyboard to ensure the experience is seamless and intuitive.
A number of new game releases will also be showcased at the event, including Hot Sync, which uses classic symbols and transports them to a fun and funky environment, alongside Leprechaun Hills and Hero.
Quickspin CEO Daniel Lindberg said: “We are thrilled to be returning to ICE once again, this time with a bag full of exciting new games and features that we can’t wait to share with delegates visiting our stand.
“We are really interested to see the reaction to our innovative new Achievements Engine, which we believe will help our partners better engage their players and ultimately encourage them to continue spinning the reels for longer.”
