New York-listed sports data and technology provider Genius Sports has agreed a settlement to resolve a legal dispute with Armenian software provider SoftConstruct.
As part of the settlement, SoftConstruct has agreed to purchase a multi-year licence to supply Genius’ sports data via its BetConstruct and FeedConstruct channels.
The licence acknowledges Genius’ ownership of database rights.
“Genius invests significant time, resource, and expertise in creating and developing market-leading technology and databases to collect and supply sports data products across the industry,” said Genius Sports chief commercial officer Jack Davison. “We are delighted that the SoftContruct team have recognized this value and we look forward to working in partnership with them as we move forward.”
SoftConstruct CEO Armand Pinarbasi added: “This deal enables us to service our customers with the best data. We can now look forward to a mutually beneficial relationship in the years to come.”
Shares in Genius Sports Ltd (NYSE:GENI) closed 5.04 per cent lower at $3.39 per share in New York Tuesday, and fell a further 2.95 per cent to $3.29 in after hours trading.
