Gibraltar-licensed social and online gaming provider Nektan has strengthened its senior management team, bringing in a new product director and chief technology officer.
Dominic Le Garsmeur takes over as the company’s new product director, filling the role left vacant by Nektan founder Richard Sagman, who has set up a US headquarters in Las Vegas.
Sagman has taken on the role of vice president, with the US market representing a “core pillar” of Nektan’s expansion strategy where the company already has Aristocrat and Scientific Games signed up as customers.
Le Garsmeur joins the company from bwin.party where he has served as head of product for casino and games for the past three years.
“I’m really excited to be joining the team here at Nektan and building on the great foundations that the team have already put in place,” said Le Garsmeur. “My focus will be on continuing to create innovative and fun content, optimised for mobile and tablet devices, that our clients both existing and new really need.”
Meanwhile, Nektan has also appointed Simon Teppett as its new chief technology officer. Teppett spent five years as head of mobile and TV technology at Betfair and has extensive experience in the mobile gaming industry, particularly in team management and mobile product development.
“I was drawn to Nektan by their single minded belief in mobile first gaming and their restless desire for quality and innovation,” said Teppett. “I’m looking forward to working with this visionary team to deliver world-class gaming platforms and content.”
Nektan CEO Geoff Read added: “I am absolutely delighted to be welcoming both Dominic and Simon to the senior management team and working with them over the coming months and years as we roll out our mobile real money and freemium products.
“Attracting industry executives of this calibre to Nektan really shows our intent as we look to disrupt the established casino and bingo industry verticals.”
