Simic succeeds long-serving Rob Rose, who is retiring at the end of the year

Pollard Banknote has appointed Verica Simic as its next chief financial officer (CFO) to succeed the retiring Rob Rose.

As previously announced, Pollard Banknote’s long-serving finance chief Rob Rose is retiring at the end of the year after 32 years’ service with the company.

He will be replaced by Simic, who joins the company on 16 November and will take over as CFO from 1 January 2027.

She brings more than 30 years of senior financial leadership experience, with extensive experience in public company financial reporting, strategic planning and M&A.

Most recently, she served as senior vice president of finance at Toronto-based toy and entertainment company Spin Master Corporation. Prior to that, Simic held senior finance leadership roles with diversified wood products company Norbord and earth-moving equipment provider Komatsu Canada.

Simic will work closely with Rose during the transition period to ensure an orderly handover of responsibilities.

“We are very pleased to welcome Verica to Pollard Banknote,” said Pollard Banknote co-CEO John Pollard. “Verica brings a strong combination of financial leadership, public company experience and commercial perspective. We believe her experience will be particularly valuable as we continue to grow and develop our business.”

Commenting on her appointment, Simic said: “I am delighted to be joining Pollard Banknote. Pollard has an outstanding reputation and a strong position in the global lottery and charitable gaming industries. I look forward to working with the leadership team and the broader organization to build on the company’s legacy and continue to execute its growth strategy.”
