Scientific Games and International Game Technology (IGT) have secured new three-year contracts to continue providing scratch cards to French national lottery operator La Franҫaise des Jeux (FDJ).
Following a competitive procurement process, the deal for Scientific Games continues a successful partnership that began in 1989.
Most recently, FDJ and Scientific Games collaborated to develop the iDecide product, connecting the retail and digital lottery experience to increase player engagement.
“We are delighted to renew our long-standing partnership spanning four decades,” said FDJ lottery and retail sports betting business unit officer Patrick Buffard. “Our scratch game products represent the largest segment in the FDJ portfolio, with more than 27 million players.
“Operating in a sustainable and responsible manner is a purpose that guides everything we do, and we are confident that Scientific Games will continue to help us achieve our goals and stay true to the historic values of FDJ.”
Scientific Games vice president of global strategic accounts EMEA, Kevin Anderson, added: “Scientific Games is honored to continue our partnership with FDJ and reaffirm our commitment to deliver high quality, environmentally friendly products in a proven, efficient manner to lottery operations in Europe.”
IGT also signed a new contract to continue providing its scratchcard games to FDJ, including its Infinity Instants games and digital instant ticket printing platform.
In addition to supplying instant tickets, IGT has served as the primary lottery central system supplier to FDJ since 2000 and provides FDJ with its central system hardware, instant ticket vending machines, and ongoing technology support and maintenance.
“In renewing our instant ticket contract for the coming three years, we were extremely interested in securing a partner who understands our business ambitions and shares our commitment to social and environmental responsibility,” continued Buffard.
Jay Gendron, IGT chief operating officer for Global Lottery, added: “IGT has established a strong understanding of FDJ’s goals, and a keen awareness of its growth opportunities and sustainability commitments throughout our decades-long partnership.
“IGT’s new three-year instant ticket printing contract with FDJ enables us to continue our collaboration, by leveraging our state-of-the-art printing facility and diverse game portfolio to meet FDJ’s needs. We are committed to extending FDJ’s business success with our compelling instant ticket games and strong focus on Sustainable Play.”
