Svenska Spel Sport and Casino CEO Fredrik Wastenson has announced that he is stepping down from the state-owned operator after seven years at the helm.
Wastenson joined Svenska Spel as product and brand manager in March 2013 before rising through the ranks as director of products and marketing followed by vice president of product and services.
He was named chief executive of Svenska Spel Sport and Casino in June 2018 and was honoured in the Gaming Intelligence Hot 50 of 2019.
“It is with both pride and great gratitude that I look back on this time, on all the exciting projects, educational experiences and not least all the fantastic colleagues and partners that I have had the privilege of working with,” said Wastenson.
“My time at Svenska Spel has meant a lot to me and I am proud to have been part of a company with strong values, social responsibility and a genuine passion for enriching our customers with dreams, excitement and joy all year round.
“There are many to thank on a day like this, but above all, I want to address all my colleagues over the years and thank you for the commitment, support and professionalism that you have always shown. You have made every day something special, and I will never forget you or this time.
“Now I’m looking forward to the next chapter, which I know will be a new, exciting journey.”
