Three more operators given green light to enter Finnish iGaming market from next July
Nordplay Group, 7bet and SkillOnNet have become the latest operators to secure licence approval to enter Finland’s regulated iGaming market.
The approvals from Finland’s National Police Board (Poliisihallitus) will enable the operators to launch in the market from 1 July 2027, joining ComeOn, SuomiVeto, Hippos ATG and Wildz Group as confirmed licencees to date.
For Malta-based Nordplay, the approval marks a significant milestone in its expansion, adding to its operations in Sweden under the Onerush, Frank & Fred, Pop Casino, Jubla, and Klirr brands.
“Receiving the green light to enter the Finnish market is an important achievement and a testament to the expertise and dedication of our team,” said Nicolas Lund, director and chief operating officer at Nordplay Group. “Regulatory expertise is not simply a prerequisite for operating in our industry. We see it as a competitive strength that enables us to enter new markets with confidence.
“Finland is an important market in its own right, and we have invested considerable time and resources in the licensing process and in preparing our businesses for the new market. Not every aspect of how the new regime will work in practice has been settled, and being able to understand that evolving environment and make well-founded decisions is an important part of being ready for launch.”
For 7bet, the Finnish approval marks the Lithuanian operator’s fourth licence alongside its licences in Lithuania, the United Kingdom and Latvia.
“Five years ago, we started with a simple belief – you don’t need to be the biggest to achieve big things,” said 7bet CEO Justinas Sliazas. “Today, with our Finnish licence secured, 7bet is taking another step forward in becoming a truly international operator. Lithuania, UK, Latvia, and now Finland. Four markets.
“We’ve already proven that a relatively small team can punch well above its weight by being faster, smarter, hungrier, and more efficient than the competition. And the best part? We’re still hungry, still learning, and still far from where we want to be. Proud of what we’re building together. And even more excited about what’s ahead!”
SkillOnNet, which operates a number of iGaming brands including PlayOJO, also confirmed licence approval to enter Finland.
Maor Nutkevitch, head of corporate development at SkillOnNet, said: “Finland represents a fantastic opportunity, with a strong digital culture and a clear commitment to creating a safe, competitive, and sustainable online gaming environment. We’re delighted to be among the early operators to receive approval, and we look forward to bringing our experience, innovative gaming products, and player-first approach to Finnish customers when the market opens next July.”
