New chairman named to state-owned lottery and sports betting operator as Nargolwala’s five-year tenure comes to an end

The Singapore Pools has appointed Yeoh Oon Jin as its new chairman, succeeding Kaikhushru Nargolwala who will step down at the end of this month.

Yeoh joined the Board on 1 April and will take over as chairman on July 1 from Nargolwala, who has led the state-owned lottery and sports betting operator for five years.

During Nargolwala’s tenure, Singapore Pools’ contributions to Tote Board, which go towards the funding of social and community causes, reached a record high in 2026.

“On behalf of Tote Board, I would like to express my gratitude to Kai for his exemplary leadership of Singapore Pools over the past five years, including the unprecedented pandemic years,” said Mildred Tan, chairwoman of Tote Board. “His commitment to responsible gaming and community impact has been invaluable to our shared mission of building a caring and resilient Singapore.

“Under Kai, Singapore Pools has innovated to become a digital forward company, deepening its operational capability and improving customer experience while not losing sight of its role as a socially responsible gaming company trusted by customers and valued by the community.

“I also warmly welcome Oon Jin and look forward to building on this foundation together. With his wealth of experience, I am confident that he will guide Singapore Pools in its continued mission as a responsible operator that serves the greater good of our community.”

Commenting on his departure, Kaikhushru said: “It has been a privilege to serve as chairman of Singapore Pools Board over the past years. I would like to thank my fellow Board members and management team for their strong partnership and dedication. I am confident that under Mr Yeoh Oon Jin’s leadership, Singapore Pools will continue to strengthen its role as a responsible and trusted operator.”

Yeoh has been with PwC for more than 30 years and currently serves as executive chairman of PwC Singapore. He is also a member of the PwC executive board for CaTSH, which comprises the PwC firms in China, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Singapore.

Yeoh also currently serves on the boards of Singapore Exchange, Singapore Airlines, Trust Bank, SingHealth and Wing Tai Holdings, and is chairman of the Singapore Institute of Directors.

“I am honoured to take on the role of chairman of Singapore Pools and to contribute to an organisation that combines operational excellence with a strong social purpose,” said Yeoh. “I would like to thank Mr Kaikhushru S. Nargolwala for his outstanding leadership and the strong foundation he has built over the past five years.”
