New director will replace Lucinda Charles-Jones, who is not seeking re-election at the company’s next Annual General Meeting
Rank Group has begun the search for a new non-executive director to replace Lucinda Charles-Jones, who is stepping down on October 8.
Charles-Jones has served on Rank’s Board as a director and chair of the Remuneration Committee since June 2022, but has now informed the Board of her decision not to seek re-election at the company’s Annual General Meeting in October.
During her time on the Board, she has seen the business through a period of improved business performance and significant leadership and governance change, including the transition to both a new chair in John Ott and a new CEO in Richard Harris, together with a review of the group’s remuneration policy.
“On behalf of the Board, I would like to thank Lucinda for her invaluable contribution to the business over a number of years,” said Ott. “We wish her every success in the future.”
An independent search process to identify Charles-Jones’s replacement has commenced.
From October 8, Katie McAlister will become interim chair of the Remuneration Committee and will also step in as designated non-executive director for workforce engagement in the interim.
McAlister has served as a non-executive director of Rank since April 2021 and has also been a member of the Remuneration Committee since then. She also chairs the Compliance, Regulatory and Government Affairs Committee.
In addition, McAlister will join the Nomination Committee, while interim Audit Committee chair Keith Laslop will join the Nomination and Remuneration Committees. Ott will join the Remuneration and Compliance, Regulatory and Government Affairs Committees.
Shares in Rank Group plc (LSE:RNK) were trading 3.97 per cent higher at 110.00 pence per share in London Friday morning.
