New Zealand casino operator intends to appoint successful media and marketing executive to the company’s Board

SkyCity Entertainment Group has announced the proposed appointment of Lauren Quaintance as a non-executive director to the SkyCity Board.

A successful media and marketing executive and an entrepreneur, Quaintance currently serves as a director of Vista Group International, Turners Automotive Group, Autosure Insurance, and J.Ballantyne and Co.

She is also chair of ChristchurchNZ and ChristchurchNZ Holdings, the companies overseeing economic development, tourism promotion and major events in New Zealand’s second largest city.

In an executive capacity, Quaintance has held positions as chief media & data officer for Sky Television and as co-founder and managing director of Storyation, an award-winning digital content marketing agency, sold to ASX-listed NewsCorp Australia in 2019.

“Lauren has extensive expertise in media, digital and data, which will be key for SkyCity as we execute on our strategic goals, including our entry into the online gambling market,” said SkyCity chair Julian Cook. “We are delighted that she has agreed to join the SkyCity Board.”

The appointment remains subject to approval by regulatory authorities in each of the gaming jurisdictions in which SkyCity operates, a process which normally takes some months to conclude.

Pending receipt of those regulatory authorities, she will be available to assist the SkyCity Board in an advisory capacity.

Shares in Skycity Entertainment Group Ltd (NZE:SKC) closed 1.43 per cent lower at NZ$0.69 per share in Wellington earlier Friday.
