New appointment brings extensive expertise in digital marketing, ecosystem growth and corporate development
ZEAL Network has appointed experienced digital and transformation executive York Scheunemann to lead its growing online gaming division.
Scheunemann brings more than 20 years’ of leadership experience in international technology companies and scale-ups, including more than twelve years in various leadership positions at Google.
He has also served on advisory boards for several high-growth companies, including the EHL Group in Lausanne.
“Our Games business is a key pillar of ZEAL’s growth strategy,” said ZEAL CEO Stefan Tweraser. “With York, we are bringing on board a leader with a proven track record of building and scaling digital business models over many years.
“His experience in international technology companies, combined with his strategic expertise as an advisor and board member, will help us further develop this important business area and unlock its full growth potential.”
As vice president of games, Scheunemann is responsible for further expanding the company’s games offering and building its international partner ecosystem.
“ZEAL has built a highly successful Games business in a very short period of time, establishing it as an important growth driver for the company,” said Scheunemann. “I look forward to building on this success together with the team by further developing our offering strategically, unlocking new growth opportunities and expanding the ecosystem around ZEAL Games alongside our international partners.”
In the first-half of 2026, ZEAL’s online gaming business continued to growth in the first half period, with revenue up 17 per cent at €7.8 million, benefiting from a 34 per cent rise in month active users (MAUs) to 35,000.
Shares in ZEAL Network SE (FRA:TIMA) were unchanged at €42.70 per share in Frankfurt earlier Wednesday.
