Four operators have now confirmed licence approval to enter Finland’s new iGaming market next July

ComeOn Group and SuomiVeto have become the latest operators to secure a licence to enter Finland’s re-regulated iGaming market next year.

The approval from the Finnish National Police Board will enable both operators to offer online casino and sports betting services in the country from 1 July 2027.

“Securing all the licences we applied for, required to execute the group’s plans for the regulated Finnish market, is an important milestone and reflects the work our teams put into preparing for Finland’s new regulatory framework,” said Itai Frieberger, CEO of ComeOn owner European Entertainment Group (EEG), which also owns Yggdrasil, Highlight Games and Game Lounge.

“Finland is a market where we look forward to serving Finnish customers in a fully regulated environment from July 2027.”

EEG chief financial officer Raffaele Amodio added: “Finland is a core part of our growth strategy. Entering a regulated market with licences in hand gives the group a strong platform for sustainable, compliant revenue growth, and supports our continued commitment to the 100 per cent regulated revenue.”

SuomiVeto, led by the successful founders of BetCity in the Netherlands, also confirmed its licence approval to enter the Finnish market.

“I am proud of the team and everyone who has helped us reach this milestone,” said SuomiVeto CEO & co-founder Melvin Bostelaar. “This licence is the beginning of an exciting new chapter. From our home in Helsinki, we are putting everything in place to bring Finland something special from day one.”

Co-founder Joey Singels added: “Finland is a market we’ve believed in from the very beginning. We didn’t start SuomiVeto just to enter the market, but to become one of its leading gaming brands. It’s exciting to be working again with trusted partners like bragg and Kambi, with whom we’ve already built successfully BetCity.nl in the past (sold to Entain).

“With the licence secured, an experienced team and strong partners behind us, we have everything in place to make a real impact from day one. And this is just the beginning.”

So far, four operators have confirmed licence approval in Finland, with ComeOn and SuomiVeto joining Hippos ATG and Wildz Group.
