Swedish horse racing operator AB Trav och Galopp (ATG) has partnered with Evolution Gaming to launch a live dealer casino offering in the reregulated Swedish gambling market.
ATG's live dealer casino will launch next year after the country's new gambling legislation comes into force on January 1st.
The company was founded in 1974 and is owned by the Swedish Trotting Association, the Swedish Jockey Club, and the Swedish state. It currently holds the horse race betting monopoly in the country and aims to be "the largest and most profitable gaming company in the Nordic region operating on a global market" following reregulation and the loss of its monopoly.
"As an international company with Swedish origins, Evolution is particularly excited to be partnering with ATG as Sweden prepares to introduce its new regulatory framework," said Evolution group chief executive Martin Carlesund.
"Having delivered first-to-market advantage to our licensees in many other re-regulated jurisdictions, we are uniquely placed and equipped to deliver similar advantage to operators in the new Swedish market."
Shares in Evolution Gaming Group AB (STO:EVO) were trading up 1.26 per cent at SEK564.00 per share in Stockholm early Monday morning.
