New York-listed gaming supplier Scientific Games has established a new sportsbook operations team in Gibraltar headed up by former Superbet Digital managing director Stuart Weston.
Weston and his team will support the company’s clients through a sportsbook operations service to help grow their sportsbook businesses.
Alongside its existing sports betting products, Scientific Games said that the creation of the operations team provides its SG Digital division with an entire sportsbook operation for multiple customers, enabling long-term success with less heavy lifting for installations and ongoing sportsbook management.
"Given the massive opportunity in the US and the continued success of existing markets, the addition of sportsbook operations is a natural step up for our business,” said Keith O'Loughlin, senior vice president of sportsbook for SG Digital.
“The team will work directly with our partners to operate and run their sportsbooks, ramping up the value of sports betting for everyone involved. It's a new ball game, and our partners have asked to tap into our vast knowledge to help with day-to-day sportsbook operations. Now, we're completely equipped to offer that capability and support customers in growing their business like never before."
Weston, a former William Hill sportsbook product director, has been appointed vice president of sportsbook operations at SG Digital and will head up the Gibraltar-based office. He most recently served as managing director of Superbet Digital, which is currently in the process of downsizing its Gibraltar office. He is expected to assume his new role next month.
Shares in Scientific Games Corporation (NSQ:SGMS) closed down 1.55 per cent at $26.93 per share in New York Thursday.
