Betting technology provider SBTech has gone live in its third US state following the launch of sports betting at Churchill Downs’ Oaklawn Racetrack and Casino in Arkansas.

The newly refurbished venue became the first operator in the state to launch sports betting last week, with players able to access 10 kiosks to bet on a comprehensive selection of sports including American football, basketball, baseball, hockey, soccer, UFC, golf and tennis.

SBTech is powering the property’s retail sportsbook, with a mobile betting app set to be rolled out later this year.

“We are rapidly becoming the supplier of choice for omni-channel sportsbook platform software in regulated and newly regulating US states, as well as major global regulated markets for tier one operators and lotteries,” said SBTech CEO Richard Carter.

“We’re delighted that Oaklawn selected SBTech to power their sportsbook in partnership with Churchill Downs and launch the state’s first sports wager, and we look forward to extending that to other products and channels in the near future.”

SBTech’s sportsbook is now live in New Jersey with Golden Nugget and Resorts Casino. In Mississippi it is live with Churchill Downs’ BetAmerica at Harlow’s Casino Resort & Spa in Greenville and at Riverwalk Casino Hotel in Vicksburg.

“We are delighted to facilitate sports betting at Oaklawn through our partners SBTech,” said Churchill Downs president of online gaming Ian Williams. “As a long-standing partner in horse racing, it was a natural fit for us to bring legal sports betting first to the state of Arkansas.”
