The Montana Lottery has reported a 20 per cent drop in the state’s sports wagers for February to $3.7 million.

Montana’s win margin fell from 5.4 per cent to 4.9 per cent in February and gross revenue decreased by 27 per cent to $185,245.

Wagering on basketball was down by 25 per cent to $2.1 million, and lower by 12 per cent on American football to $784,283. Ice hockey was Montana’s third largest sport by bets in February on $291,334.

The Super Bowl result was a poor one for the Montana Lottery and it posted a monthly gross loss on American football of $254,856. Specials betting also recorded a gross loss of $3,375 in February.

Basketball betting revenue was $316,639 and made up for the loss on American football, while Ice hockey contributed revenue of $67,425 in the month.
