Great Canadian Entertainment continues to divest its casinos in British Columbia with the sale of Elements Casino Surrey.
Great Canadian has agreed a deal to sell Elements Casino Surrey to SE-MI-AH-MU Development Corporation, the economic development arm of Semiahmoo First Nation.
The transaction is subject to financial commitments, customary closing conditions, and approval by regulatory authorities and the City of Surrey, and marks the eighth deal for the sale of the company’s casinos in British Columbia since the start of 2025.
The financial details of the transaction have not been disclosed.
Post-closing, Great Canadian will provide transition services to SE-MI-AH-MU for up to one year.

“Our next step will be to continue to work with the SE-MI-AH-MU team to timely close this transaction and then work with SE-MI-AH-MU and the Elements Casino Surrey team members for long term success.”

The definitive agreement with SE-MI-AH-MU follows Great Canadian’s December 2025 deal to sell Casino Vancouver to Petroglyph Development Group, a wholly owned corporation of Snuneymuxw First Nation.
In 2025 the Snuneymuxw First Nation acquired five casinos from Great Canadian, the others being Casino Nanaimo, Elements Casino Victoria, River Rock Casino Resort and Chances Maple Ridge.
Great Canadian Entertainment was acquired by Apollo Global Management in September 2021, prior to which it was listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange.
