Gersh brings extensive experience from Paddy Power Betfair, Sportradar and Paysafe
DAZN is strengthening its executive leadership team with a trio of appointments, including a new chief financial officer.
Alex Gersh (pictured) joins DAZN as chief financial officer from Evelyn Partners, where he served as CFO for 14 months until the sale of the business to NatWest in June 2026.
Gersh has extensive experience in the gaming industry, having served as CFO of Betfair and then Paddy Power Betfair between 2012 and 2018, and CFO of Sportradar from 2020 to 2022, during which time he led the company through its NASDAQ listing.
Gersh also has experience from the payments industry, having served as CFO of Paysafe from 2022 to 2024.
He assumes the CFO role from Darren Waterman, who takes on the new position of chief business officer.
The third appointment sees Patrick Delany take on the role of chief operating officer at DAZN after serving as CEO of Foxtel Group since 2018.
DAZN acquired Foxtel in 2025, with Delany leading the integration of the business to create DAZN Australia.
“DAZN is entering an exciting new chapter of profitable growth, during which we will build on the strong momentum we have created in the business,” said chief executive Shay Segev. “Our built-for-sport platform is now available in more than 200 markets, connecting millions of fans across the world to the sports they love through immersive experiences that go far beyond broadcast.
“The stage is set for our strengthened leadership team to intensify our mission to build the world’s best sports entertainment platform for fans, rights holders and partners.”
