Ladbrokes has hailed the performance of its online offering after successfully delivering on its planned operational improvements prior to the FIFA World Cup, despite posting a massive drop in operating profit for the division.

“We have made substantial progress and while there is more to do there is also much to play for. We now have the products, the platforms, the people and the brand in place to deliver,” the operator’s chief executive Richard Glynn commented. ”Ladbrokes today is a far stronger company and well positioned for growth.”
