Operators question Spain’s proposed sports betting tax

Spain’s proposed tax rates for sports betting have been labelled as anti-competitive with operators warning that it could drive consumers towards unregulated providers.

The proposed tax rates contained in a leaked draft of Spain’s new online gaming law range between 10 and 20 per cent for sports betting, applicable on total turnover.
