The Stars Group and Flutter merger set to complete in May

Flutter Entertainment’s proposed combination with The Stars Group is expected to complete next month after receiving shareholder approval.

The Stars Group’s shareholders unanimously approved the proposal on Friday after Flutter Entertainment’s shareholders had similarly approved the £10bn deal earlier in the week.

Following recent approvals from the Irish Competition and Consumer Protection Commission and UK Competition and Markets Authority (CMA), the transaction is expected to close in May, subject to remaining regulatory approvals and customary closing conditions.

Shares in The Stars Group Inc (TSX:TSGI) closed up 2.55 per cent at CAD$35.39 per share in Toronto Friday, while shares in Flutter Entertainment plc (LSE:FLTR) were trading up 1.37 per cent at 9,168.00p in London Monday morning.
