Australia’s NSW raises Point of Consumption tax rate to 15%

The Australian state of New South Wales (NSW) has announced reforms to its wagering taxes, including an increase in the Point of Consumption tax rate payable by betting operators.

The NSW government said that the betting tax reforms will achieve competitively neutral tax rates across online and offline betting products, support a sustainable racing industry, and enhance the funding of harm minimisation programs associated with online gambling.
