Games News

This week sees the release of new slots for NetEnt, Yggdrasil Gaming, and Endorphina, a second casino network promotion for Playtech, a poker-themed lottery game for Western Canada Lottery Corporation, and an integration deal for Nektan that added more than 75 per cent to the value of its shares.

The Swedish casino games developer has served up a feast for the senses with its latest slot game, Jungle Spirit: Call of the Wild.

The game brings to life nature’s colourful sights and sounds through a 243-bet way, 5-reel, 3-row video slot that features free spins, a symbol expansion feature, and a brand-new Butterfly Boost feature.

The feature is activated randomly in the main game during a win situation, when there are no scatter symbols or symbols marked by butterflies on the reels. The butterflies fly around the reels and land on one to three symbols, causing them to expand and increase winnings.

The game also features dangerous animals hiding around every corner, ready to pounce in 3D, while players can listen to jungle drums or the calming sounds of nature as they track down the untamed beasts.

“We’re sure players will love going wild and getting into the Jungle Spirit with our latest video slot title,” said NetEnt’s chief product officer Simon Hammon. “The game is a veritable feast for the senses and the Butterfly Boost feature adds a new, fun element that could bring big rewards.”

Yggdrasil Gaming

Cherry’s game development studio Yggdrasil has launched the sequel to its popular Chibeasties slot game.

Following on from the success of the original game, Chibeasties 2 sees the “adorable” creatures once again return to the magical forest. The game features four different game modes in four different realms – Expanding Realm, Spreading Realm, Teleporting Realm and Mirroring Realm – each with a unique wild feature.

The supplier says that the stand-out feature of the game is the wild mutation. Once a wild has carried out its feature, it has a chance to mutate into another wild and play out a second feature. In free spins this will happen for every single wild landing, causing the game’s biggest wins.

“We continue to grow our award-winning portfolio of slots, this time with the return of our ever-likeable Chibeasties characters,” said Jonas Strandman, head of gaming at Yggdrasil. “The game functionality is completely new compared to the previous Chibeasties game, and it has the great depth that can be expected from a top-quality slot.

“The four wild features that combine into six different combos give the game great long-lasting appeal, enabling players to find their favourite mode to play. If, like me, you love to see wilds filling the screen, this is the game for you.”

Casino software provider iSoftBet has added content from UK-based developer Genii to its growing Game Aggregation Platform (GAP).

iSoftBet will now be able to offer operators and players Genii’s suite of video slots, including the supplier’s Spin16 and i3D slot games.

“Genii continues to penetrate the casino vertical and the demand for more interaction and engagement in games is testament to Genii’s growth,” said Nick Barr, sales director at Genii. “The partnership with iSoftBet allows the multitude of operators using GAP to be able to access our games and further increases Genii’s reach across the globe.”

Michael Probert, head of business development for iSoftBet, added: “GAP continues to move from strength to strength, with an increasing number of players accessing its third-party games every month. The addition of Genii‘s pioneering games will only enhance our platform.”

The online instant win games developer has agreed a deal to deliver its entire portfolio of content to mobile gaming specialist Nektan.

IWG games will be made available via the company's RGS platform, allowing Nektan to offer its partners instant win games for the first time.

The deal is IWG’s third RGS integration in the past few months, having recently joined forces with the Michigan Lottery in the US.

“Instant win games are rapidly growing in popularity across the entire online gaming industry, as evidenced by our latest deal with Nektan,” said Rhydian Fisher, chief executive of IWG. “It is an extremely exciting time for the vertical, and we have several major integrations lined up for the coming weeks.

“This sort of content has been hugely successful in the lottery space. With the rise of mobile, egaming operators realise the time is now to add instant win games to their portfolio. We are delighted to be partnering with Nektan whose customers will love our games.”

Nektan CEO Leigh Nissim commented: “We are constantly focused on improving our games portfolio to enhance our Casino Network experience for both our players and our partners. “IWG games are entertaining and engaging for softer real money mobile players and the portfolio of games will also assist our partners by providing new customer acquisition routes to market.”

News of the deal sent shares in Nektan rocketing in London Thursday, closing up by more than 75.5 per cent at 43.00 pence per share.

The omni-channel gaming software giant has launched its largest ever casino network promotion.

The £500,000 cash giveaway coincides with the launch of a number of Super Hero based games including three Superman titles, Superman (1978), Superman II (1980) and Man of Steel (2013).

It follows the success of Playtech’s £250,000 network promotions last year to promote the release of the first series of DC-branded titles.

“We are delighted to announce our biggest ever casino network promotion across a selection of our most popular and best-performing games, and I’d like to thank all our participating licensees for their continued support and making this our biggest ever giveaway,” said Playtech chief operating officer Shimon Akad.

“We consistently deliver more than 50 new and exciting games a year, complete with a host of innovative features, across a wide range of diverse regulated markets. No other supplier can deliver at these speeds and to these levels of quality and offer such a diverse and fresh range of games.”

The cash giveaway consists of four draws including one worth £200,000 and three others, each worth £100,000. Headline prizes of £5,000 will also be up for grabs as well as hundreds of smaller cash prizes, ensuring there are as many winners as possible.

To be in with a chance of winning prizes, players will receive one ticket for every £10 cash bet placed on selected titles.

This includes some of the supplier's new and best-performing titles such as Superman (1978) and Superman II (1980), Man of Steel (2013), Green Lantern (2011), Space Invaders, Halloween Fortune 2, Buffalo Blitz, Age of the Gods and Plenty O’ Fortune.

Following the conclusion of the promotion, Playtech plans a further network promotion later this year to coincide with the beginning of the new football season.

“We have meticulously planned the last nine months’ content release schedule and strategically aligned it with a series of fantastic marketing promotions,” said Akad. “Yet again, I’m thrilled to say that our industry-leading content teams have delivered some incredible products. We’re already looking forward to our next promotion.”

Telegraph Media Group

UK media group Telegraph Media launched a new network of pool-betting games and tournaments this week on mobile and desktop.

Powered by UK-licensed fantasy sports provider i-pools, Telegraph Predictor allow players to pit their skills and knowledge against others for both free-play and real-money games at any stake level.

The platform features 19 sports, including football, horse racing, golf and darts, across a range of Last Man Standing, Tipping, Daily Fantasy and Predictor formats.

“Telegraph Fantasy Football is a national institution, and we are really excited to partner with one of the most innovative operators in that space,” said Tristan McDonald, founder of i-pools. “We have designed i-pools to offer partners a suite of games, tournaments and competitions that bridge the gap between their traditional fantasy games and fixed odds sports betting.

“The integration of a network of play-for-money games provides daily revenue generating promotions, as well as the opportunity to deliver audience engagement via free-to-play games for the Telegraph as well as their advertisers and brand partners.”

Steve Stiles, head of interactive sport and gaming, Telegraph Media Group, added: “Telegraph Predictor is a key strategic launch in our plans for developing our range of betting and gaming services.

“By teaming up with i-pools, the only B2B provider offering a multi-sport and multi-game format network, we are providing our players with a unique, user-friendly, series of games with real-time updates which are tailored to meet the demands our audience.”

Poker Lotto

Western Canada Lottery Corporation (WCLC), the state lottery operator for the provinces of Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba, debuted a new daily poker-themed lottery game earlier this week.

The game gives players the chance to double their fun with two ways to win. With Poker Lotto, players can win up to $10,000 instantly when they buy their ticket, or up to $100,000 in a second chance nightly draw.

A Poker Lotto ticket shows five playing cards instead of numbers. While the ticket prints, the player can watch an animation of their five cards on the customer display screen. If the five cards form a poker hand, the player wins an immediate prize. Winning hands on Poker Lotto range from a pair of Jacks or better, up to a Royal Flush.

In addition, the player has one more chance to win on the nightly Poker Lotto draw if at least two of the five cards in a Poker Lotto selection match the winning cards drawn. If all five cards on the ticket match the five winning cards, the ticket wins $100,000.

“Poker Lotto takes two elements lottery players are already familiar with – a draw game and an instant win component – and combines them into a brand-new kind of game,” said WCLC spokesperson Andrea Marantz. “We’re excited to bring our very first ‘Watch & Win’ lottery to our players.”

Prague-base casino games developer Endorphina has launched its new vape-themed slot Diamond Vapor.

First unveiled at the beginning of this year, the game has now been officially released by the supplier, which has already launched a number of unusual game themes recently including Twerk.

“We are lucky enough that we don’t have to keep our imagination inside any borders and we can let loose to bring the fresh topics to the iGaming industry,” said Endorphina’s creative team.

"It is always a risk to make something completely new, but without this risk, you would never move forward and our aim is to push the industry to be better and better.”

World Poker Fund

World Poker Fund has launched its first celebrity-themed slot game across the Native Games America-owned Mega Fame Casino social gaming app.

T-Mac Slots is a new free-to-play game based on NBA All-Star Tracy McGrady, with Mega Fame Casino becoming the first platform on which the game has been made available.

It marks the first celebrity-themed title to be rolled out by the joint venture between WPFH and Native Games America. Revenue generated by the T-Mac Slots game will be shared equally by WPFH and Native Games.

Previously owned by CrowdGather’s Plaor, the social casino app was sold to Native Games America in March 2016.
