iGaming solutions provider EveryMatrix has launched Spearhead Studios, a new independent game studio formed from assets recently acquired from Gaming Innovation Group (GiG).

Based in Marbella, Spain, Spearhead Studios is led by Mathias Larsson, the former managing director of the GiG Games studio which was shut down in September.

Larsson has over 11 years of management experience in the iGaming industry, having founded Asian-facing supplier XIN Gaming and worked for the likes of Ezugi and HoGaming.

“EveryMatrix is an established B2B brand and entering the game development sector was something which we wanted to do for some time now,” said EveryMatrix CEO and co-founder Ebbe Groes. “Having a creative gaming studio led by a brilliant executive such as Mathias Larsson sets EveryMatrix apart in this competitive industry and we are confident that this combo is going to serve our clients and partners very well.

“The background for this acquisition is the tremendous success of our CasinoEngine product, which has strong synergies to Spearhead. However, we will keep the studio activity highly independent, winning market share on its own merits while staying true to our principles of full transparency and maximum coverage in CasinoEngine.”

Spearhead Studios’ team previously created the Book of Souls slot, which has recorded over 20m game rounds in the first ten months post-launch. Upcoming releases include multiple slot games, as well as the launch of table games such as Blackjack and Roulette.

“I'm very excited to play a part in the launch of Spearhead Studios and continue the work we've already started,” said Larsson. “We have a very talented and highly skilled team which will prove successful in the years to come.

“Being part of such a thriving company as EveryMatrix will strengthen our offering to the market and will help Spearhead reach a bigger audience.”
