The government of Lithuania has notified the European Commission of a new draft law to regulate online gaming.
The Lithuanian gambling market is currently regulated under Gambling Law No. IX-325, but this legislation fails to adequately address remote gambling. As a result, Lithuanian licence holders are said to be operating at a disadvantage versus offshore competitors who serve the market without a local licence.
