Amaya’s PokerStars and its coalition of tribes and card rooms in California have backed legislation introduced by Assemblyman Reggie Jones-Sawyer, claiming that it is the only online poker bill that takes into account years of input from industry stakeholders including the Department of Justice.
Jones-Sawyer’s bill (AB167), or the Internet Consumer Protection Act of 2015, was introduced last week, and seeks to establish a framework to authorise intrastate online poker.
