The Romanian government’s Legal Commission on Discipline and Immunities has proposed an amendment to the country’s iGaming legislation that would see companies required to pay retrospective tax on pre-regulatory operations.
Earlier this week Emergency Ordinance 92/2014 was passed to the parliament’s Chamber of Deputies, after a number of amendments suggested by the Senate were rejected.
The Legal Commission has now approved a recommendation that effectively de-criminalises activities before the passage of regulation, if operators pay a fee.
