New York State Assembly Member Felix Ortiz has introduced legislation to regulate fantasy sports betting, which would provide added consumer protections by giving the state's gaming commission regulatory authority over fantasy sports gaming.
The bill, A08554, amends the state’s racing, pari-mutuel wagering and breeding law, by adding “fantasy sports gaming” to the definition of “gaming activity”.
The purpose of the bill is to give the New York state gaming commission jurisdiction over fantasy sports gaming.
