Australian state bans eSports betting because of appeal to children

The state of South Australia has banned betting on eSports because of concerns that it particularly appeals to children.

The state government has taken the step over fears that the links to computer games popular in their demographic will attract younger people to betting, with the ban intended to ensure that this group remains “cyber safe.”
