Irregular betting patterns at US Open come under investigation

The Tennis Integrity Unit has confirmed that it is looking into suspicious betting patterns detected in a first round match at the US Open, but criticised the manner in which details of the investigation have been released.

Betting alerts were raised during a match between Switzerland’s 15th seed Timea Bacsinszky and Vitalia Diatchenko of Russia on August 30th at the US Open. Bacsinszky won the game easily by 6-1, 6-1.
