The Federal Court of Australia has approved the settlement between Tabcorp and the Australian Transaction Reports and Analysis Centre (AUSTRAC), ending legal proceedings which began in June 2015.
The case centred on Tabcorp's failure to comply with anti-money laundering and counter-terrorism financing laws, which the company admitted to in February, agreeing to pay a AUD$45m penalty and AUSTRAC's legal costs in return for having the charges dismissed.
