Premier League footballer Joey Barton has been suspended from football with immediate effect for 18 months after admitting to breaching The Football Association’s betting rules.
The Burnley FC midfielder admitted a misconduct charge in relation to FA Rule E8, after placing 1,260 bets on matches between March 26th and May 13th 2016.
Following an Independent Regulatory Commission hearing by The FA, Barton has also been fined £30,000 and warned as to his future conduct.
