Banks, credit card companies and other financial institutions in Norway are being asked to block transactions to and from foreign gaming operators following enactment of legislation Tuesday prohibiting online gambling payments.
The Norwegian government maintains that the international online gaming market represents "evasions and breaches" of Norwegian gaming law which "undermine the policy principles of the country's gaming sector".
