Acting US Solicitor General Ben Wall may have killed New Jersey's hopes of taking its sports betting fight to the Supreme Court after recommending that Justices do not take up the case.

In a detailed brief Wall said the case did not warrant a review by the Supreme Court. He argued that the New Jersey's key line of attack, that the Professional and Amateur Sports Protection Act (PASPA) is unconstitutional, simply does not stand up.
