Colorado Governor Jared Polis has signed the state's recently passed bill to legalise sports betting, subject to voter approval of a new tax.
The bill decriminalises sports betting effective 1 May 2020, subject to Colorado voters approving the introduction of a sports betting tax at the November 2019 general election.
Sports betting will be regulated by the Colorado Gaming Control Commission, with two-year Master licenses reserved for the existing casinos in Central City, Black Hawk, and Cripple Creek.
