Belgium has notified the European Commission of draft regulations concerning the licensing of online gaming operators, as it readies to open its online gaming market in March.
From January 1st 2011, gaming operators have been able to apply for Belgian land-based betting licences, a pre-requisite to securing an online betting licence. Similarly, online casino licences will only be made available to holders of a land-based casino licence.
