Gaming Laboratories International (GLI) and BMM Testlabs have been approved as testing and certification laboratories for Peru’s new sports betting and iGaming market.

With Peru becoming the latest Latin American country to regulate sports betting and iGaming, the two companies received accreditation this week by La Dirección General de Juegos de Casino y Máquinas Tragamonedas (DGJCMT), which operates under the country’s Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism (MINCETUR).

“We are grateful to the DGJCMT for the clarity and transparency of this new accreditation process for Peru,” said GLI president and CEO James Maida. “With this accreditation, we are reconfirming our commitment with the regulator and the industry by being ready to fulfil their compliance needs to achieve the very important deadlines that this new regulation establishes for the industry to continue to operate and thrive. We can only expect Peru to become, once again, a regulatory model for the region and the world.”

BMM Testlabs president of digital gaming, security and inspections Marzia Turrini said: “This is a landmark moment for BMM Testlabs, as we are now the first lab approved to test and certify online games and sports betting programs in Peru.

“We are very grateful to MINCETUR for their confidence in BMM, and we’re eager to help launch Peru’s new digital gaming programs and ensure fair and secure entertainment for this newly regulated market.”
