KSA warns licensees to investigate backgrounds of senior hires
24th July 2024 10:18 am GMTDutch gambling regulator Kansspelautoriteit (KSA) has forced a licensee to dismiss a senior member of its management team for prior involvement in illegal gambling.
The regulator has not named the licensee but said that the company dismissed the individual after they failed to pass the KSA’s reliability test.
The individual was found unsuitable due to their previous involvement in illegal gambling at another company.
Gaming regulations in the Netherlands oblige licensed operators to notify the regulator of any change to their board of directors, or the hiring of any individual that can determine company policy.
“The KSA emphasizes that it is the responsibility of the provider to sufficiently investigate the integrity of new directors and co-policy makers,” said the regulator. “If research by the KSA shows that the reliability of an individual is in doubt, the KSA acts in an enforcement form.”
