The European Court of Justice (ECJ) has issued an Opinion which upholds the right of member states to differentiate between various forms of gambling when applying Value Added Tax (VAT).
The ECJ Opinion is in response to a request for a preliminary ruling from the Court of First Instance in Liège, Belgium, and relates to VAT on online gambling.
