US gaming and lottery supplier Scientific Games has signed a new contract to provide German state lottery Lotto-Toto GmbH Sachsen-Anhalt with retail technology for a further five years until 2021.

The deal will see the gaming giant supply the lottery with technology including 725 terminals, software and maintenance services, with Scientific Games securing the contract following a competitive procurement process. It may also be extended for an additional five years.

The end of the contract’s initial term in 2021 will mark the 30th anniversary of Scientific Games’ partnership with the lottery. In addition to supplying it with retail technology, Scientific Games also provides Lotto Sachsen-Anhalt with instant games, as well as a central gaming system.

The supplier has established a strong presence in the German lottery market, providing all 16 state lotteries with games, technology or related services.

This year it has also signed extensions to its partnerships with the Brandenburg Lottery, agreeing a new 6-year deal to provide it with instant games management services, and an 8-year contract to supply the state lottery of Mecklenberg-Vorpommern with retail technology.

“We look forward to continuing our trusted relationship with Scientific Games that began back in 1991,” co-CEO of Lotto Sachsen-Anhalt commented.

His co-CEO Maren Sieb added: “We want to offer our retailers and players modern technology that serves their needs in a secure and convenient way.”
