US gaming and lottery supplier International Game Technology (IGT) has signed a new contract to provide a range of services to the Massachusetts State Lottery Commission.

The company has serviced the lottery since 1996 when it first deployed a central gaming system and lottery terminals in the state.

Following a competitive procurement process, IGT has been selected to update the central gaming system and terminals, and to provide the lottery with an integrated internet website to display general lottery information.

"We look forward to continuing to support one of the world's most successful lotteries as it modernizes and positions itself for future growth in an ever-evolving environment," said Jay Gendron, IGT senior vice president, WLA North America Lottery. "With this latest technology, we hope to assist the lottery in achieving even greater efficiency and success in the years ahead."

Shares in International Game Technology plc (Co. Data) (NYQ:IGT) closed in New York Monday up 1.78 per cent at $25.12 per share.
