The government of South Australia has confirmed that it expects to issue a licence to a private operator for the operation of the SA Lotteries brands and products during the second half of 2012, having selected Investec to advise the government following an open tender.

Treasurer Jack Snelling announced last June that the government would licence SA Lotteries to a private operator, stating at the time that it was better for the state government to be a “regulator of the gambling industry rather than an operator.”
