Denmark’s former monopoly operator Danske Spil has acquired licensed Danish iGaming brand from amusement park operator Tivoli.

Danske Spil has taken over operation of the site after paying an unspecified amount for the assets related to the online brand, as well as agreeing to royalty payments to Tivoli over the next 10 years for use of the brand. 

“In 2012 Tivoli established the online casino site, which quickly gained market share in a growing online casino market,” explained Tivoli CEO Lars Liebst. “It was a natural step for Tivoli to enter into this industry, as the Tivoli Gardens have offered games within its physical settings for more than 100 years.
