ASA rules against misleading Campaign for Fairer Gambling ads

A Conservative MP has had his complaints against advertisements condemning fixed-odds betting terminals (FOBTs) upheld by the UK Advertising Standards Authority (ASA).

Philip Davies, Member of Parliament for Shipley and chair of the All-Parliamentary Group on Betting and Gaming, acting in a personal capacity, complained about three ads published in parliamentary magazine The House by anti-FOBT pressure group the Campaign for Fairer Gambling, each headlined: “pull the plug on bookmakers' addictive roulette machines.”
