German sports betting operator Tipico has completed the trifecta in Germany after securing a partnership with 3.Liga until the end of the 2027/28 season.
The operator already has a long-running partnership with the Deutsche Fußball Liga (DFL) which covers the top two tiers of professional football, and now adds the German third tier to its partnership portfolio.
The agreement takes effect on 1 July and includes exclusive central advertising rights in the German third division, with Tipico’s logo appearing alongside the league logo on the sleeves of club kits, as well as TV-relevant visibility in stadiums through perimeter advertising.
“This good news rounds off an outstanding year in the 3. Liga, full of record attendances, and underscores the league’s popularity,” said Dr Holger Blask, chair of the German Football Association (DFB). “Tipico, as a strong and reliable partner, is a perfect fit. Together, we want to continue our extensive efforts to promote responsible sports betting.
“For many years, the DFB has shared the goals set out in the State Treaty on Gambling, which only permits betting offers from state-approved providers in compliance with legal requirements. In this context, promoting regulated offerings and, at the same time, effectively combating the black market are of great importance in order to preserve the integrity of the game and protect players.”
Kajetan Strini-Brown, director of marketing and brand at Tipico, added: “The 3. Liga is pure football: packed houses, passionate battles, hope and fear – it’s a perfect fit for Tipico. We are therefore delighted to work together to further strengthen the attractiveness and visibility of this special league.
“For us, the 3. Liga is the logical extension of our commitment to German football, as it now makes us a partner of all professional competitions. We have been working with the Bundesliga and 2. Bundesliga for many years and have also been a partner of the DFB for a year.”
