YouTube opens up to gambling advertisers in Europe

Google is continuing to relax its policies regarding gambling advertising with licensed operators now able to promote their online gaming services via the popular video-sharing website YouTube.com.

The site, which Google acquired in 2006 for $1.65bn, had previously banned all gambling related advertising. The change in policy follows Google's lifting of a self-imposed blanket ban on gambling advertising in October 2008 which enabled UK and European licensed operators to target consumers in Great Britain via Google [...]
