Following the acquisition of the Tote earlier this year by independent bookmaker Betfred, Cheltenham Racecourse has confirmed that the Cheltenham Gold Cup will be renamed The Betfred Cheltenham Gold Cup for 2012.
One of the most prestigious of all National Hunt events, the race was previously known as the totesport Cheltenham Gold Cup, and takes place during the Cheltenham Festival in March every year.
