California tribal association pledges to keep PokerStars out

The California Tribal Business Alliance (CTBA), an association comprising three of the state’s largest tribes, has pledged to block any online gaming legislation that would allow PokerStars to enter the market.

The threat was made by CTBA chair Leslie Lohse in response to media reports suggesting that PokerStars had entered negotiations with the Morongo Band of Mission Indians and three larges Southern California card clubs to launch online poker in the state.
